1. We met while I was doing my undergrad and he was doing his Master’s at UAlbany in NY. We were both working with Spanish and took some classes together. On top of that, I was a member of the track and field team, and he was a volunteer coach at the time, as he also ran for the team as an undergrad. One day, I injured a muscle in my hip (which he also did prior) so I asked him for some extra help to rehabilitate it, and the rest was history! Nothing like bonding over a messed up hip, haha!
2. Fast forward 6 years, we bought a house! On the day we officially got the keys to the house he told me he was going to “go run” and that we would go to dinner after, and after dinner we would stop by the new house. So we went to dinner at a restaurant I’d always wanted to try, and while we were eating, someone else got proposed to! My fiancé (Ricardo) actually looked like he was going to faint, and he started sweating excessively. I really thought something was wrong. So we finished up dinner quickly and went to the new house. When I opened the door, there was a candlelit path of roses, leading the ring box and two champagne glasses with a bottle of Don Perignon! Once I got to the ring box, he got on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was a very intimate moment shared with just us two.
3. For the engagement shoot, I did a wash and go. I usually separate my hair into 5 or 6 sections and apply the products. I used DevaCurl Decadence NoPoo, to cleanse, followed by their Melt Into Moisture mask to condition/deep condition. Once I finished that, I applied the Trader Joe’s Nourish Spa conditioner, SheaMoisture black caster oil (to seal), Cantu Curling Creme, and lastly the Eco styler caster oil and flaxseed gel. Then I let it air dry and viola!
