Thank You Cards are just as important as wedding invitations.Â I must say this topic is sometimes over looked too often and I wanted to make sure that our Natural Hair Brides don’t make the same mistake as some newlyweds that forget what I believe is, one of the most important projects post I-Do’s, THANK YOU CARD ( or personal phone message). Sometimes we can get so caught up in the buzz of our own attributes and forget to Thank those that made the wedding a success, our guests and wedding party. Guests allow for you to bask in the gloriness of being a new bride, they make you feel like a celebrity for the day, guests bring you gifts, take out their time to attend your wedding, rearrange their schedules, travel to the event, even buy a new dress to look their best.Â Staying on top of sending out your Thank You Cards in a timely manner let’s guest know that you acknowledge them for their efforts no matter big nor small. Let’s go over a few tips for Bridal Thank You Cards.
1. Â Why You Should Say Thank You
Well, If I haven’t stressed it enough in my opening statement, let’s pour out a few more reasons as to why you should say THANK YOU. You just received a gift from someone, whether the gift was their presence at your ceremony, reception, bridal shower or in the form of a physicalÂ gift or monetary contribution. Some guests like to know that you received their gift. By receiving your Thank You message, it will keep guests from checking their mailbox for returns. Simply put, its a rule of wedding etiquette assuring friends and family that you’ve acknowledged their support.
2. When To Send Thank You Card
A Thank You Card should be sent in a timely manner. Of course, no one expects you to post pone your honeymoon to ensure guests receives a Thank You Card within 3 business days of the ceremony, Oh No! However, wedding experts advise to send Thank Yous no later than one to two months post wedding affair. I personally would suggest that you send a Thank You Card after getting settled from your honeymoon.
3. Â What Should I Say
Steer away from the printed thank you cards unless your adding a specialized hand written message. Writing a personalized Thank You note detailing the persons name, the gift given and how you intend to use the gift is the best. For example, write “Thank you so much for the wine glasses, we love them! I can’t wait to use them to toast to our very first meal as a married couple.” Just imagine the warm feeling your friend or familyÂ member will receive when they open up a sweet little note from the newlyweds! Be sure to have both you and your husband sign the Thank You Card.
4. Â Keep Records
When opening up your gifts it’s great to have a pen and pad handy to write down who purchased the gift and what the item was. Please don’t leave your memory to chance. Gift card tags can easily get mixed up during the travel from venue to home.
5. Â Non Gift Givers
Everyone signs your cute sign-in pad for a reason before the ceremony begins so, it’s just as important to make sure that they receive a Thank You Card that reads: “Thank you for being apart of our special day.” Even if no gift is exchange, you still want to make sure that you acknowledge their efforts for attending.
