Constance shared the most beautiful love story with us via email. It reminds me of how my husband and I met in high-school. We recently celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary and 13 years of being together. Yes, we too met at 16 years old. Black love is real and I’m happy to share this stunning engagement shoot with you today.
A couple with gorgeous locs planned a stunning black tie engagement shoot. I hope you enjoy these photos by District Photography.
Stunning Locs Plus High School Sweetheart Engagement
Every year for Thanksgiving my family visited our second home in New York to enjoy our extended family, Jamaica Ave. shopping and some amazing food cooked like only my Grandmother Ruth and Aunt Joy can.
I had just missed my last high school cheerleading competition due to an injury. So I found myself stuck on crutches watching my cousin Alex play video games. But to my delight, in walks his best friend Jerron!
I will never forget what I heard in my head when I saw him. Yes I know… most 16 year olds also think they fall in love at first sight, but even he’ll say this was different. He had a vibe like I had never witnessed. It was his NY confidence, mixed with his Trini charm, that had me from Hello. He loved my “country”accent, although Maryland is barely considered the South. My goofy and unapologetic nature made him fall fast and from then, we talked for hours on the phone. In the following months we truly became best friends before officially dating on March 8, 2005.
God has seen us through high school and college graduations, big career decisions, healthy lifestyle changes and many major milestones. One of our favorite memories started out as a family trip to Tobago, W.I and ended with the most surprising and awesome proposal at Argyle Waterfalls!
We look forward to spending the rest of our lives together and can’t wait to share more details about heading back to the island for our big day!
