My husband and I decided we needed some time alone. We needed to getaway, take a short break and whoosah to kick the second quarter of 2017 into high-gear. What better way to get away plus, have a bit of fun than a trip to South Florida!
We planned out the trip in one week! It was exciting to bring out the adventurous side that we knew we had. It was just a bit bottled up since our escapades in high-school, nearly 11 years ago. My husband liked the idea of this spontaneous and romantic adventure we both were so eager to partake in. Being a new mom, I refused to plan a trip without our son. I literally cried knowing that my “chocolate baby” would be thousands of miles away but, I knew that we both needed some “us” time and ditching the 6 inches of snow was a bonus.  Plus, my beautiful mom and sister enjoyed letting baby Calvin spice up their world for a few days and he loves spending time with his TT and Grandma, no rules, just fun.
We’ve visited Miami before but it was over 7 years ago. So, I began to put together a list of the most popular activities and the best restaurants. Here’s how our romantic getaway went and what we enjoyed during our stay. Read the details and watch the video, below:

Life is about capturing memories and creating lasting experiences together. Jet Skiing was so much fun! My husband took the wheel, I hopped on the back and we were guided out to our pin point to wait for the instructor. Well, let’s just say there really was no concrete directions, just drive. I felt pretty confident since I had on my safety gear but I’ve never been so close to water over 6ft. Praise HIM for the drinks I had prior to, it calmed our nerves and the hubs was hitting the waves on that jet ski. It was an adrenaline pleaser for sure. I highly recommend.
Segway  Tour Fort LauderdaleÂ
Informational and fun! We were lucky to have the owner, Jon available to give us a fun, gut busting with laughter tour! Jon, created a fun atmosphere for us to laugh, ride and learn about the architecture and homes in one of the most elite neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale area.
Learning The Segway? I loved how Jon, our guide and instructor, took time to ensure every guest knew how to get on the Segway, make left and right turns, full circle turns and kick the Segway into full speed. I learned how to maneuver the Segway pretty quickly, approximately 5 minutes.
The Tour: We went on an hour tour (felt like 10 mins) with one stop to step off the Segway. During our stop we learned about Al Capone’s home and history. We hopped back on the Segway and view beautiful multi-million dollar homes. Some homes were owned by NFL coaches. During the tour we stopped our Segways and Jon shared information about the beautiful scenery while playing some hilarious recordings and making jokes.
Overall, the Segway tour in For Lauderdale was a ton of fun and I would definitely recommend for anyone traveling in the area. Learn more, here.
Of course, we took a bit of time away from the camera to party and relax. Many of you captured some behind the scenes on our Instagram Stories, here and here. Throughout the trip, I wore comfortable and flowy dresses like this maxi dress from http://www.HerTreasuresBoutique.com. This was such a fun and relaxing trip. I hope you stop by a few of these destinations on your way to South Florida.
