Real Natural Hair Bride | Afrocentric Rustic Wedding
Word of advice for the newly engaged on preparation for their wedding day:Â
If you’ve been heavily involved in the planning process, hand it all to someone for that day so you can remove yourself for the details and enjoy each and every moment.
How did you meet?
We met at my house party. I knew his cousin through a mutual friend. His cousin thought we’d hit it off and invited him to this party. It was definitely not smooth sailing for there but that’s where it all began.
Most unforgettable moments of your wedding day:
Walking down the aisle and the exchanging of our vows are the moments that stand out to me most. The rest of the day seemed to fly by but we’d put so much thought into the ceremony that I consciously stayed present and absorbed every moment.
Wedding Details: Location: Theme:
Mansion at Noble Lane. The theme was “afrocentric rustic”
Wedding Date |Â August 15, 2015Â Wedding Color |Â We had a color palette consisting of blues, greens and aquas
We had an “I do” crew as opposed to a formal bridal party. I didn’t assign any roles to anyone. I invited all of the most special people in my life to spend the weekend with us at the mansion. They danced down the aisle with no rehearsal. We just asked them to wear something with colors from the palette. We didn’t dictate wardrobe at all. I had males and females in my crew.
Bridal Gown Style:Â Lacy Mermaid
Describe your hairstyle on your wedding day:Â Curly updo, swept to the side.Â
Where did you get the style idea?
I always like asymmetry in styles and I love the softness of curls. I styled hair similar to this before but new that my stylist would do a more impressive version.
Hair products used? My stylist used “my gel”.Â
