Facebook, Twitter or Instagram your thoughts on Mrs. Benoit advice. Photographer: She.Unique Photography Word of advice for the newly engaged on preparation for their wedding day: Do pre-marriage counseling and ask your partner a lot of questions. Use the engagement period as a time to really get to know your future partner as marriage is a serious decision. Ask the questions you haven’t, and cover everything – it helps a lot as you prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime decision! How did you meet? Jamo and I met in business school, we were both part of an organization called the Consortium. I offered to give him a ride home after the first day of orientation, we talked for several hours, and the rest is history! Most unforgettable moments of your wedding day: The vows. We decided to write our own vows, and you could tell that both of us were truly committed to each other and excited about what was to come – it was very special. Wedding Details: Location: Theme: We got married in a small town about 1 hour east of Pittsburgh called Jennerstown, PA at a lovely, quaint restaurant called Green Gables. The theme for the wedding was rustic winter as the restaurant had a cabin feel, and we got married in December. It was about 20 degrees on our big day, I was hoping for a light snow, but it ended up just being cold – lol! Wedding Date | Wedding Color | Bridesmaid Count | Bridal Gown Style: We got married on 12/20/14, we opted out of having a bridal party, so there were no additional colors. Most of the decorations were white with some champagne highlights. My dress was simple, classic and timeless, it was an ivory lace with sleeves and a little mermaid train. Describe your hairstyle on your wedding day: I had my Sisterlocks installed one month before my wedding day, and my hair was not very long — my longest locks were probably 3 inches, and the shorter ones were barely 2 inches long. I had been talking to my consultant for about 8 months prior to the wedding about getting them installed. Once I felt confident that I could find a hairstyle that I would like with the SL – I was excited to have the locks on our big day. I style my SL very simply with a little pomp/lift in the front, and I kept the rest of the locks flat to my head. Where did you get the style idea? Hair products used? I was inspired by the look that Charlize Theron has in her Christian Dior (J’adore) commercials. I love how elegant and classy she looks. To achieve the pomp in the front, I simply twisted my locks in the front/middle section of my hair and set them on a few rollers at the ends only. I used a scarf to lay everything else down. I used water to “set” the curls. The morning of, I undid my hair and used water to loosen the curls to get the lift I wanted in the front. How did you learn of Naturalhairbride.com? I learned through my photographer, Sheora.
