After The Knot: We Love Each Other… Isn’t That All That Matter?

Having someone in your corner that loves you, cares for you and wants to be there for you no matter what is an amazing feeling. It is a feeling that most women yearn for and is willing to do anything to experience. Once we have that special someone we are happy, full of passion, excited, and eager to please! For me, once my husband and I got married IT WAS ON! I was coming up with all type of sexy intimate activities, I became best friends with rose petals and candles, we were going any and everywhere, we were making all types of plans because we felt like together we can do anything and I motivated him like non other to go for what he wants. Then we started to get a dose of reality and I began to question whether this love that I yearned for so much was enough. I wondered if love is all that matters

The answer I realized is YES! I know I am going against the grain on this but keep reading why! Love is enough IF you allow your love to demonstrate the actions needed to keep your marriage committing, exciting, and fulfilling.

The reason why most believe that Love is not enough is because we look at it from the “webster” or “dictionary.com” meaning of, “an intense feeling of deep affection” and to “feel a deep romantic or sexual attachment to (someone).” Which is so surface to the true meaning of love. Love is an action word and creates the actions necessary to keep your marriage strong and blissful.

According to the REAL definition of love, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.

Love creates actions and those actions creates the feelings and emotions that “webster” and “dictionary.com” refers to. As long as you remember what Love TRULY is, you act based on the TRUE meaning of Love and allow your husband to Love you back then you will have or continue to have a blissfully long lasting marriage and that is all that matters!
